  If your Yamaha Outboard Motor's engine won't start but the starter is working, consider these possibilities: the fuel tank may be empty or the fuel may be contaminated or stale; the fuel filter might be clogged. Also, the spark plugs could be fouled or of an incorrect type, or the spark plug caps might not be fitted correctly. Check if the engine stop switch lanyard is attached. Ensure that you are using the correct starting procedure. Inspect the ignition wiring for damage or loose connections. If these steps don't resolve the issue, the fuel pump or ignition parts may be faulty, or the engine's inner parts may be damaged, requiring servicing by a Yamaha dealer.
