  If your Yamaha Outboard Motor's starter isn't operating, here's what you can check: * The battery might be weak or have low capacity. Inspect its condition and replace it with a battery of the recommended capacity. * Loose or corroded battery connections can also be the culprit. Tighten the battery cables and clean the terminals. * The fuse for the electric start circuit may have blown. Find the cause of the electrical overload, fix it, and then replace the fuse with one that has the correct amperage. * Ensure that the shift lever is in neutral.
