Periodic maintenance
*: Items marked with an asterisk must be serviced by a Yamaha dealer.
Greasing points
1. Remove the PORT and STBD support
brackets “1” from the steering cylinder
shafts “2” and support rod “3”. Remove
the support rod “3” from the tilt tube “4”.
2. Clean the support brackets “1”, steering
cylinder shafts “2”, support rod “3”, and
tilt tube “4”.
3. Apply a sufficient amount of grease to
the contact points between the support
brackets “1”, steering cylinder shafts “2”
and the support rod “3”.
4. Reassemble the support brackets “1” to
the steering cylinder shafts “2” and sup-
port rod “3”. Tighten fasteners to the
specified torque value.

system for signs of corro-
sion. Contact a Yamaha
dealer if any corrosion is
found.


Hydraulic
fluid*
Perform a visual check to
see whether the hydraulic
fluid is clean. Clean the fluid
if any sediment is found, if
water appears to be mixed
with the hydraulic fluid, or if
there appears to have been
a change in color.
