REMOTE CONTROL DEVICE
CHECK
SD20
NOTICE: Before operating the engine,
check Sail-Drive oil level. While cranking the
engine slowly, shift the control handle of the
remote-control head (single lever control)
rapidly through NEUTRAL - AHEAD -
NEUTRAL - ASTERN. If a shift operation is
done slowly, the tip of the clutch dog is worn
away by being hammered, and,
consequently, the clutch fails to engage.
Confirm that the operation lever of the Sail-
Drive moves smoothly to AHEAD, ASTERN
and NEUTRAL. Because the Sail-Drive
SD20 uses a dog clutch, the clutch is not
engaged unless the operation lever is
moved to the NEUTRAL position.
NOTICE: When sailing, set the remote
control lever in neutral. Not doing so WILL
introduce slippage and void your warranty
(Figure 1, (2)).
