Overview

The Yuwell 405A/B Air-compressing Nebulizer is a medical device designed to aerosolize medications for inhalation by patients with respiratory disorders. It represents a new generation of compressor nebulizers, incorporating innovations and improvements based on similar products.

Function Description:

The nebulizer operates by using a DC compression pump to generate compressed air. This air is then pumped out from a nozzle, creating negative pressure between the nozzle and an air tube. This negative pressure sucks up the medication, which then impacts a baffle at the top of the septum. This impact transforms the medication into a very fine aerosol, which is then ejected for inhalation. The device is intended for intermittent operation, working for 20 minutes with a 40-minute interval.

Usage Features:

The device is designed for simple operation and portability.

  • Open-package Checking: Users should check the product's appearance and ensure all attachments match the accessory list before installation and commissioning. Any defects should be reported to the supplier or manufacturer.
  • Preparation:
    1. Open the cap of the medication cup.
    2. Add the prescribed amount of medication to the cup, ensuring it does not exceed the maximum mark. The scale on the cup is a reference; users should use a syringe or vial for accurate measurement.
    3. Properly place the cup to avoid spillage.
    4. Cover the cap and connect either the mouthpiece or mask.
    5. Ensure the power switch is in the "off" ("0") position.
    6. Plug the AC adapter into the main unit.
    7. Plug the adapter into a power outlet, ensuring it is fully inserted and hands are dry.
    8. Use the provided holder when temporarily placing the medication cup.
  • Operation:
    1. Turn the power switch to the "on" ("_") position.
    2. Connect one end of the air tube to the main unit connector and the other end to the medication cup connector. Ensure the air tube is firmly connected.
    3. Hold the nebulizer kit for treatment.
    4. When inhaling, keep the mouthpiece in the mouth and close the mouth, or use the mask.
    5. Do not tilt the nebulizer kit more than 45 degrees to prevent medication flow into the mouth and ensure effective spraying.
    6. If unusual operation or irregular spray occurs, stop treatment immediately.
    7. The cap can be rotated to adjust the aerosol quantity.
  • After Treatment:
    1. Turn the power switch to the "off" ("0") position.
    2. Disconnect the nebulizer kit from the air tube.
    3. Check the air tube for condensation or moisture.
    4. Disconnect the air tube.
    5. Unplug the adapter from the power outlet by holding the adapter, not pulling the cord.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Do not use or store the device with a bending air tube, or if the main unit, nebulizer kit, or AC adapter has been dropped or subjected to strong shocks.
    • Do not apply force to deform the air tube or nebulizer kit, or poke the nebulizer kit with sharp objects.
    • Avoid continuous use.
    • Do not disassemble or attempt to repair the main unit or AC adapter.
    • Do not use or store in bathrooms or damp places, or in extreme heat, cold, or direct sunlight.
    • Do not use benzene, thinner, or similar substances to clean the air tube.
    • Store the product away from children due to small parts.
    • Unplug the AC adapter before maintenance.
    • Follow physician's instructions for medication type, dose, and regime.
    • Clean and disinfect the nebulizer kit, mask, or mouthpiece before first use and after long periods of disuse.
    • Replace supporting disposable nebulizers (kit, mouthpiece, or mask) when used by different people to prevent infection.
    • Do not use microwave ovens, cutlery dryers, or hair dryers to dry the main unit or parts.
    • Do not insert fingers or other objects into the main unit.
    • Do not use water in the nebulizer for inhaling purposes.
    • Use only Yuwell-manufactured nebulizer kits, air tubes, and filters.
    • Do not use damaged components or cover the main unit/AC adapter during use.
    • Do not touch the main unit/AC adapter during normal operation, except for power off or necessary operations.
    • The device is approved for human use only.
    • Avoid using or storing the product near toxic or volatile gases, or mobile phones.
    • Provide close supervision when children use the device.
    • Wipe dust off the AC adapter before use.
    • Do not use non-certified AC adapters or operate with a damaged power cord/plug.
    • Do not wind the AC adapter cord around the main unit or adapter.
    • Unplug the AC adapter when not in use for a long time, or from the main unit after use.
    • Turn off the power switch and unplug the AC adapter during a power outage.
    • Unplug the AC adapter after use and before cleaning.

Maintenance Features:

Regular cleaning and disinfection are crucial to prevent medication residue buildup and infections.

  • Cleaning After Each Use:
    1. Remove the baffle and accessories, discharge remaining medication, and clean/disinfect.
    2. Baffle, Mask, and Mouthpiece: Rinse with clean water or immerse in warm water for 15 minutes. Add vinegar for hygienic cleaning, then dry naturally.
    3. Main Unit and Air Tube: Wipe the main unit with a moisturized cloth and dry naturally.
    4. Removing Water from Air Tube: Connect the air tube to the main unit, remove it from the medication cup accessories, turn on the main unit, and repeatedly open and close the air tube ports with fingers to exhaust water droplets.
    • Caution: Dispose of remaining medication after each use and use fresh medication each time. All attachments must be dried and stored in a clean place. Do not store the air tube with moisture or medication residue inside.
  • Disinfection:
    • Disinfect parts after each use. Replace parts if pollution is severe.
    • Method 1: Commercially Available Disinfectant: Follow manufacturer instructions. Soak for the required time, rinse with clean warm water, and air dry.
      • Caution: Wash units sufficiently to avoid residual disinfectant, which can worsen symptoms if inhaled. Colored disinfectants may cause color changes over time; replace parts if severe.
    • Method 2: Boiling: Add enough water to a container, place boilable parts, and heat to boiling for 15-20 minutes. Carefully remove, shake off excess water, and dry in a clean environment.
      • Caution: Do not boil the air tube, mask, filter, filter cover, and accessories to prevent heat deformation. Ensure the medication cup is empty during disinfection. Be careful not to burn yourself when boiling.
  • Filter Replacement:
    • Replace the filter sheet every three months, or immediately if it changes color or if medication spills on it.
    • Steps:
      1. Pull the air filter cover from the back of the compressor.
      2. Remove the old filter sheet with a toothpick or other tool, and install a new one.
      3. Install the filter sheet cover.
    • Caution: Ensure the filter sheet is properly installed before use. Use only original filter sheets and do not use the device without one. Do not wash or clean the filter sheet; damp filters can cause blockages. Filter sheets have no positive or negative side. Confirm cleanliness before installing. Regularly clean the filter cover sheet with water (non-boiling) and dry naturally to prevent clogs.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a table for common failure analysis and troubleshooting, including symptoms, analysis, and solutions (e.g., abnormal device noise, main unit not operating, no nebulization, water droplets in air tube). For complex issues, contact the supplier, manufacturer, or professionals.
  • Waste and Residue Processing: Discarded main units, accessories, and other products should be processed according to local government provisions.
