This document is a user manual for the Zanussi ZGGN645K hob, providing instructions for installation, safe use, maintenance, and technical specifications.
Function Description
The Zanussi ZGGN645K is a built-in gas hob designed for domestic cooking. It features four gas burners: one Multi Crown burner, two Semi-rapid burners, and one Auxiliary burner. The hob is controlled by four control knobs, each corresponding to a specific burner, allowing users to adjust the flame intensity from minimum to maximum gas supply, or turn the burner off. The appliance is equipped with an ignition system for easy lighting of the burners and thermocouples to ensure gas supply is interrupted if the flame goes out.

Usage Features
- Ignition: To light a burner, push the control knob down and turn it counterclockwise to the maximum gas supply position. Keep the knob pushed for 10 seconds to allow the thermocouple to warm up and prevent gas supply interruption. Adjust the flame after it stabilizes.
- Flame Adjustment: The hob is equipped with progressive valves for precise flame regulation. Knobs can be turned to adjust the flame from maximum to minimum.
- Cookware Compatibility: Recommended cookware diameters are 180-260 mm for Multi Crown, 120-220 mm for Semi-rapid, and 80-180 mm for Auxiliary burners. Users should use stable cookware with the correct shape and diameter, centered on the burners.
- Safety Features: The appliance includes safety features such as thermocouples to cut off gas if the flame extinguishes, and warnings against unattended cooking, storing flammable items on cooking surfaces, and using damaged cookware. Child safety devices should be activated if present.
- Energy Saving Tips: Users are advised to ensure burners and pan supports are correctly assembled, use appropriate cookware sizes, center pots, use only necessary water, put lids on cookware, turn down the flame when liquid boils, and use a pressure cooker where possible.
Maintenance Features
- Regular Cleaning: The hob should be cleaned after each use when sufficiently cool. Use a moist soft cloth and a non-abrasive detergent for the hob surface. Enamelled parts, caps, and crowns should be washed with warm soapy water and dried carefully.
- Spark Plug Cleaning: Keep the ceramic ignition candle and metal electrode clean to prevent difficult lighting and ensure burner crown holes are not obstructed.
- Pan Support Cleaning: Pan supports are not dishwasher safe and must be washed by hand. They should be removed for easier hob cleaning and replaced carefully to avoid damage. Ensure pan supports are correctly positioned and aligned with the center of the burner for proper operation.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues such as no spark, flame extinguishing, or uneven flame, with possible causes and remedies.
- Periodic Maintenance: Users are advised to contact an Authorized Service Centre periodically to check the gas supply pipe and pressure adjuster.
- Service and Repair: For repairs, contact an Authorized Service Centre and use original spare parts only. The replacement of electric cables must be carried out by qualified personnel.
