This document is a user manual for the Zanussi ZGNN645K and ZGNN645X gas hobs. It provides comprehensive information on safety, installation, operation, maintenance, and technical specifications.
Function Description:
The Zanussi ZGNN645K and ZGNN645X are built-in gas hobs designed for domestic cooking. They feature four gas burners, including a Multi Crown burner, Semi-rapid burners, and an Auxiliary burner, each with individual control knobs. The hob is equipped with an ignition system for easy lighting of the burners and thermocouples for safety, which interrupt the gas supply if the flame goes out. The progressive valves allow for precise flame regulation.

Usage Features:
- Ignition: To light a burner, push the control knob down and turn it counterclockwise to the maximum gas supply position. Keep the knob pushed for 10 seconds to allow the thermocouple to warm up and prevent gas supply interruption. Adjust the flame after it is regular.
- Flame Regulation: The hob is supplied with progressive valves for precise flame adjustment.
- Minimum Level Adjustment: The minimum flame level can be adjusted by a bypass screw located under the control knob and gasket.
- Cookware Compatibility: Recommended cookware diameters are 180-260 mm for Multi Crown, 120-220 mm for Semi-rapid, and 80-180 mm for Auxiliary burners. Cookware should be stable, centrally positioned on the burner, and not overlap the edges of the appliance.
- Safety: Thermocouples ensure gas cut-off if the flame extinguishes. A child safety device can be activated if available. The appliance should not be left unattended during operation.
- Energy Saving: Users are advised to ensure burners and pan supports are correctly assembled, use appropriate cookware diameters, center pots, use only necessary water, put lids on cookware, turn down the flame to simmer, and use a pressure cooker where possible.
Maintenance Features:
- General Cleaning: Clean the hob after each use. Use a moist soft cloth and neutral detergents. Avoid abrasive products, solvents, metal objects, water spray, and steam cleaners.
- Stainless Steel Parts: Wash with water and dry with a soft cloth. For stubborn stains, soak with mild detergent. Use specific cleaning products for stainless steel.
- Enamelled Parts, Caps, and Crowns: Wash with warm soapy water and dry carefully.
- Pan Supports: Must be washed by hand, not in a dishwasher. Ensure they are correctly positioned and aligned with the burner center after cleaning to prevent damage to the hob top.
- Spark Plug: Keep the ceramic ignition candle and metal electrode clean to prevent difficult lighting. Check that burner crown holes are not obstructed.
- Periodic Maintenance: Contact an Authorised Service Centre periodically to check the gas supply pipe and pressure adjuster.
- Injector Replacement: Injectors can be replaced to adapt the hob to different gas types. This involves removing pan supports, burner caps and crowns, and then replacing injectors with the correct ones. A new gas type label must be attached near the gas supply pipe.
- Electrical Cable Replacement: Must be carried out by a qualified service force center or personnel with similar competencies.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides a guide for common issues like no spark, flame extinguishing, or uneven flame, along with possible causes and remedies. If issues persist, contact an Authorised Service Centre.
