The Zanussi ZRG16602WV is a refrigerator designed for household and similar applications. It is intended for storing fresh food and is equipped with features for temperature regulation and internal organization. Usage Features

Switching On and Off: To switch on, insert the electrical plug into a wall socket and turn the temperature regulator clockwise to a medium setting. To switch off, turn the temperature regulator to the "O" position.

Temperature Regulation: The temperature is automatically regulated. Users can adjust the temperature regulator:

  • Towards lower settings for minimum coldness.
  • Towards higher settings for maximum coldness. A medium setting is generally recommended. The ideal setting depends on room temperature, frequency of door opening, quantity of food stored, and appliance location. If ambient temperature is high, the appliance is fully loaded, and set to the lowest temperature, continuous running may cause frost. In such cases, setting to a higher temperature allows automatic defrosting and reduces energy consumption.

Internal Organization:

  • Movable Shelves: The refrigerator walls have runners, allowing shelves to be positioned as desired. The glass shelf above the vegetable drawer should not be moved to ensure proper air circulation.
  • Door Shelves: Door shelves can be adjusted to different heights to accommodate various food package sizes.

Hints for Fresh Food Refrigeration:

  • Avoid storing warm food or evaporating liquids in the refrigerator.
  • Cover or wrap food, especially items with strong flavors.
  • Position food to allow free air circulation.
  • Meat: Wrap in suitable packaging and place on the glass shelf above the vegetable drawer, storing for at most 1-2 days.
  • Cooked foods, cold dishes: Cover and place on any shelf.
  • Fruit and vegetables: Clean thoroughly and place in the special drawer. Bananas, potatoes, onions, and garlic should not be kept in the refrigerator unless packed.
  • Butter and cheese: Place in an airtight container or wrap in aluminum foil or a polythene bag to exclude air.
  • Bottles: Close with a cap and place on the door bottle shelf or bottle rack.

Energy Saving Tips:

  • Do not open the door frequently or leave it open longer than necessary.
  • If the ambient temperature is high, the appliance is fully loaded, and the temperature regulator is set to a low temperature, the compressor may run continuously, leading to frost or ice on the evaporator. In this situation, set the temperature regulator to warmer settings to allow automatic defrosting and save electricity.

Maintenance Features

General Safety during Maintenance:

  • Always unplug the appliance before performing any maintenance.
  • Only qualified persons should carry out maintenance and recharging of the cooling unit, as it contains hydrocarbons.
  • The accessories and parts are not suitable for washing in a dishwasher.

    • Do not pull, move, or damage any pipes and/or cables inside the cabinet.
    • Take care not to damage the cooling system.
    • When moving the cabinet, lift it by the front edge to avoid scratching the floor.

Defrosting:

  • Frost is automatically eliminated from the evaporator of the refrigerator compartment during normal use when the motor compressor stops.
  • Defrost water drains through a trough into a special container at the back of the appliance, where it evaporates over the motor compressor.
