This instruction manual contains important information that teaches users how to set up
and use the product safely. They are intended for persons carrying out the following activi-
ties:
transportation
assembly and dismantling
operation
Maintenance and servicing
The following documents/regulations are also to be observed in addition to this instruction
manual:
Customer-specific order confirmation including all technical information
Country-specific regulations concerning accident prevention
Recognised technical standards for the correct and safe use of steps
Safety regulations for the use of electrical equipment where there is increased electri-
cal risk

1.3.2 Regulations/standards
In addition to the instructions in this manual, the following regulations must be complied
with when installing, using and servicing the equipment:
DIN EN 131-3 Ladders – Part 3 Labelling and instructions for use; German version
2018-03 (also mobile platform ladders)
DIN EN 131-7 Mobile platform ladders (with a maximum area of 1m² and a max. plat-
form height of 5 m, intended for use by one person); German version 2013-09
DIN EN 14122-3 Permanent means of access to machinery – Stairs, ladders and guard-
rails; German version 201610
DIN EN ISO 12100 General principles for design, risk assessment and risk reduction
(ISO 12100:2010); German version EN ISO 12100:2011-03 and Amendment 1: 2
1.4 Notes for the operator
The operator must ensure:
that all required documents are always available at the place of assembly and use;
compliance with regional and national regulations on occupational safety, accident pre-
vention and working on/with ladders and steps;
that ergonomic working heights from 500-1700 mm are observed when working on the
platform;
that the product is used as intended and is in proper technical condition;
that this instruction manual is included if the product is passed on to a new owner.
In addition, the operator must:
draw up operating instructions for the use of the access steps with platform (these in-
structions must contain all necessary information on the safe use of the equipment);
instruct personnel at least once a year on how to use the equipment, on the basis of the
operating instructions;
prepare a risk assessment;
