2.7 General safety instructions
WARNING
Injury to persons
Improper assembly, dismantling, operation and maintenance of the product may lead to
severe injury.
Proper use must be observed.
Do not work in ways that compromise safety.
The specifications in these instructions must be observed when assembling, disman-
tling, operating and maintaining the product.
The product may only be used when it is complete and in a proper working condition.
All movable attachment and structural parts must be secured in place using the lock-
ing mechanisms designed for this purpose.
All required documents, safety-related instructions and safety information must be
legible, complete and stored carefully on the product.
Never leave the product unattended in places accessible to the public. Seal off the
danger area to passers-by. If required, use warning barriers, warning lamps or de-
ploy personnel to guard the area.
The product must never be attached to towing vehicles.
The product may not be used in a thunderstorm.
Always provide ample lighting in the working area.
Secure the fixed and swivel castors against rolling away in the working and parking
position by pressing down the brake lever.
The surface must be level (max. slope of 2.5%) and have sufficient load capacity. Use
load-distributing pads if necessary.
WARNING
Injury to persons
There is a risk of falling when working on the product without using adequate fall pro-
tection equipment. This may result in damage to property, severe injury and even death.
For a climbing height of over 500 mm and a lateral gap next to the steps of >180 mm,
only use the product with a complete fall protection device (depending on the scope of
order: handrail/railing, swing door or pole barrier).
All handrails/guardrails must be fitted and secured in place before the product is
used. This applies in particular if there is a risk of drowning or breakage in the event
of a fall.
For steps >45°, two handrails must always be installed.
For distances > 20 mm between the platform and the machine/wall, a toe board is
required.
When using the product without secured areas on the platform, do not enter the plat-
form without personal protective equipment and secure yourself according to appli-
cable regulations.
