Media and Ribbon Calibration Procedure

Procedure Overview

Procedure to set media and ribbon sensor sensitivity when the printer fails to sense supplies.

Step 1: Prepare Media Sensors and Ribbon Guide

Assure media sensors are properly positioned and the ribbon guide plate is installed.

Step 2: Power On and Open Printhead

Open the printhead and power on the printer.

Step 3: Access Calibration Menu

Locate the MEDIA AND RIBBON - CALIBRATION menu item on the LCD Display.

Step 4: Observe Load Backing

Press the "+" key and observe LOAD BACKING - CANCEL CONTINUE.

Step 5: Prepare Media Roll for Sensing

Remove labels so only backing material threads between media sensors.

Step 6: Observe Ribbon Removal Prompt

Press "+" to continue and observe REMOVE RIBBON - CANCEL CONTINUE.

Step 7: Unload Ribbon and Close Printhead

Unload ribbon, close printhead, press "+" to see RELOAD ALL.

Step 8: Reload Ribbon and Thread Media

Open printhead, reload ribbon, pull media until labels enter sensor location.

Step 9: Initiate Printer Feed

Close printhead, press "+"; printer feeds labels to rest based on PRINT MODE.

Step 10: Test Single Label Feed

Press FEED button; observe one label feeds each time, stopping consistently.
