The Zip'r Rambler is a rollator walker designed to provide mobility assistance for individuals who are limited to a seated position but have the capacity to operate a rollator walker. It can be used both indoors and outdoors on flat surfaces.
Function Description:
The primary function of the Zip'r Rambler is to aid users in walking by providing stability and support. It features a seat for resting, brakes for slowing and locking the wheels, and a storage bag for personal items. The rollator is designed for use by a single individual with a maximum weight capacity of 300 lbs. Users should possess the necessary physical, visual, and cognitive skills to operate the rollator safely. If there is any doubt, consulting a dealer or prescriber is recommended.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Maximum Weight Capacity: 300 lbs.
- Wheels: 8-inch smooth glide wheels.
- Brakes: Hand-operated brakes with a locking mechanism.
- Height Adjustment: Adjustable height control for the handgrips.
- Storage: Removable storage bag.
- Additional Features: Backrest, seat, textured handgrips, cane holder.
Usage Features:
- Assembly: The rollator walker comes folded in its packaging. Assembly involves unfolding the rollator, securing the front wheels with fastening knobs, and assembling the rear wheels by folding out the rear legs and securing them to the mainframe with a pin or bolt. The seat is opened by pushing down on both sides until it clicks into place.
- Setting the Proper Height: To ensure proper use, the rollator walker seat must be fully open and locked. The user should stand upright with arms resting at their sides, and the rollator should be adjusted so that the textured grips are at wrist height. Height adjustment is done by pressing the spring button on each side of the rollator. The user's elbows should be slightly bent (15-20 degrees) when gripping the handles.
- Brake Operation: Squeezing both brake handles slows the rollator walker. Pushing down on each brake handle locks the rear wheels, preventing the rollator from sliding, which is a mandatory action before sitting on the seat.
- Brake Adjustment: Brake tension can be increased or decreased by turning an adjustment screw. Turning the screw counterclockwise increases tension, and clockwise decreases tension. The adjustment is then locked by turning a locking nut clockwise. A warning is provided that low brake adjustment tension may cause the rollator to move even when locked.
- Safety Precautions:
- Always read and understand the owner's manual before operating.
- Perform a pre-ride safety check before each use, ensuring the rollator is fully unfolded and locked, castor wheels are secured, brakes operate properly, and tires are not damaged or excessively worn.
- Do not use strong corrosive cleaners on the product surface.
- Do not leave the rollator walker outside in rainy conditions.
- Do not hang weighted items on any part of the frame, as this may cause instability.
- Do not apply rubber conditioner on tire treads, as it can make them dangerously slippery.
- Do not use rubber or vinyl conditioner on the seat or backrest, as it can make surfaces dangerously slippery, leading to personal injury or damage.
