Minerals contained in w ater may build up inside the pipes and o th er parts w ith
use. These m inerals are called “scale” .
If scale accumulates, water may not be dispensed smoothly, the amount
of coffee brewed may be reduced, or hot water may leak from gaps in
the Main Body.
• The am ount of scale build -up varies depending on the type and qua lity o f
water. M ore scale may build up if living in areas w ith hard w ater or when using
mineral-rich water.
• Perform c itric acid cleaning about every 4 weeks o f usage. (When using water
at TDS 400ppm )
Use the following procedure to remove scale.

© Put 1 package o f the Citric Acid Cleaner C D-K03E-JU in a cup and add
warm water to dissolve. Pour it into the W ater Tank and fill w ith w ater to
level iTfiTfrlO on the W ater Tank.
(D S tir the citric acid solution well.
(D Set the W ater Tank, Stainless Carafe (with the Carafe Lid Set attached),
Filter Basket, and Swing Basket to the Main Body.
(Do n ot set the Perm anent Coffee Filter.)
® Hold the START button fo r more than 3 seconds to initiate the citric acid
cleaning process.
• To stop the citric acid cleaning process before it finishes, press the CANCEL button.
If cleaning was cancelled before it finished, restart the cleaning process from step © .

standpoint, but do not consume it.
