TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Please check the following
before calling for service.
Condition
The product does not operate
even when the START button
is pressed.
Remedy
Is the Pow er Plug inserted correctly?
Insert the Power Plug into the electrical
outlet.

Is the W ater Tank filled w ith water?

Is the W ater Tank set correctly?
Set the W ater Tank correctly. (- P.11)

W hen scale accumulates inside the pipes and o ther parts, hot water may not be
dispensed sm oothly. In that case, perform citric acid cleaning. (-*• P.18)
A noise is heard during
brewing.
There is water left in the Water
Tank.
There are coffee grounds in the
coffee.
Coffee grounds in the Swing
Basket after brewing.
Coffee or coffee grounds
overflow from the filter.
The coffee is not hot (the
Carafe is not retaining heat
properly).
When the Carafe Button is
pressed, it makes a sound.
The Carafe Button does not
go down smoothly.
AM7:00 is blinking on the
Display when the Power Plug is
inserted.
The m icroprocessor (MICOM) makes a sound w hile adjusting the heat pow er o f the
product.
W hen scale accumulates inside the pipes and o ther parts, hot water may not be
dispensed sm oothly and w ater may be left in the W ater Tank. In that case, perform

Is fine ly-ground coffee being used? Please do not use finely-ground coffee.
Is too much ground coffee being
used?
Please reduce the am ount of ground coffee.

Is the Swing Basket closed properly?
Close the Swing Basket proper
Is the Carafe Lid Set attached properly?
Attach the C arafe Lid Set properly. (- P.11)
Is the Stainless Carafe properly set on
the Carafe Holder?
Set the Stainless C arafe properly on the
Carafe Holder. (> P.11)
Are you using th e Permanent Coffee
Filter and paper coffee filte r together,
or are you using tw o o r more layers
of paper coffee filter?
Use the Permanent Coffee Filter only or just
one paper coffee filter.
Depending on the typ e o f coffee or Basket C offee Filter being used, coffee grounds
may overflow from the Basket Coffee Filter. In that case, use the Permanent Coffee
Filter or reduce the am ount o f coffee (number o f cups) to be brewed.
Depending on the typ e o f paper filter being used, coffee grounds m ay overflow from
the Basket Coffee Filter. In this case, reduce the am ount of coffee grounds. If coffee
grounds continue to overflow , please con tact Zojirushi Custom er Service or visit

Has the coffee been left in the
Stainless Carafe for a long time?

The coffee tem perature w ill gradually
drop as tim e passes.
When the Stainless Carafe contains small am ounts of coffee or the room tem perature
is low, the tem perature o f the coffee will drop.
Does the pin tha t pops out when you
press the Carafe Button loo k clean?

Clean the inside of the Stainless Carafe

The built-in lithium battery is out.
Readjust the clo ck to use the product in a normal manner. To replace the lithium
battery, c onta ct the store where you purchased the pro duct or Zojirushi Custom er
Service. (There w ill be a charge fo r the service.)
