6.1.2UpgradingPrecautions
Theupgradingprecautionsareasfollows:
lBecauseupgradingrequiresmanycables,pleasebecarefultoconnecteachcableto
thecardproperly,includingthepinsanddirections.
lAbidebytheupgradingowtoupgradetheBOOTchip.Upgradetheuplinkcardand
theusercardrst,andthenupgradethemaincontrolcard.IftheBOOTchipofthe
maincontrolisupgradedrst,theBOOTlesofothercardscannotbeupgraded.
lSaveandbackupthecongurationdataandversionlesbeforeupgrading.
lWhenupgradingBOOTchips,donotunplugthecardwiththepowerON.TurnOFF
thecardrst,thustoavoidtheBOOTchipsbeingburnt.

lLaptopandupgradingprogram
lCrossovernetworkcables
lCongurationserialportcable
lUpgradingsoftware,suchasFTPsoftware.
6.1.4UpgradingPreparations
Thepreparationforupgradingincludesthefollowing:
1.Makesurethatthecardstatusisproper.
2.ConnecttheCLIinterfaceonthefrontpanelofthecontrolandswitchingcardinslot
10intheZXA10C300tothelaptopserialport.Keepthedefaultvaluesfortheserial
portconguration.
3.Useacrosscabletoconnectthe10/100Minterfaceonthefrontpanelofthecontrol
andswitchingcardinslot10withthecomputernetworkport(unplugthecontroland
switchingcardinslot11rst).
4.ConguretheIPaddressesofthedebuggingcomputerandtheZXA10C300inthe
samenetworksegment.PingtheZXA10C300addressonthecomputerandifit
succeeds,thatmeansthatthenetworkconnectivityisgood.Otherwise,pleaseclose
therewallofthedebuggingcomputerandcheckthecongurationdataoftheZXA10
C300.
