3M™ Full Facepiece 7800
Reassembly
Now we will review reassembly and replacement of the 3M™ Full Facepiece
7800.
1) If the 7886 DIN Connector must be replaced, contact 3M Technical
Service at 1-800-243-4630.
2) To replace the Inhalation Valve:
a. Install new valves onto the posts inside the DIN Connector on the
facepiece.
b. Be certain the valves are fully engaged under all 3 lugs on the post,
lay flat and spin on the post.
3) To replace the 7916 Breathing Room:
a. Insert the breathing room into the front opening in the faceseal until
it is flush around the perimeter of the breathing room.
4) To replace the 7914 Band Clamp:
a. Place the clamp on the faceseal, holding the breathing room.
b. Tighten the screw on the clamp with a Phillips head screwdriver.
5) To replace the 7895 Speaking Diaphragm:
a. Push the diaphragm into the opening of the breathing room from
inside the facepiece.
b. Use the diaphragm removal tool to turn the retaining ring clockwise.
c. Ensure the grill pattern with deep indentation in the center is visible
from the inside of the respirator.
6) To replace the 7999 Air Inlet Gasket:
a. Position the gasket so the small cut out on the gasket is pointing
toward the lens.
b. Push the gasket groove onto the plastic bar and seat the gasket.
