• Use only a three wire extension cord with a 3-prong
grounding type plug and 3-hole receptacles that accept
the tool’s plug as shown in the diagram. Repair or replace
damaged or worn cords immediately.
CAUTION: in all cases, make certain the receptacle in
question is properly grounded. If you are not sure, have
a qualified electrician check the receptacle.
• Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord to carry the
tool or to pull the plug from an outlet. Keep the cord away
from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Replace
damaged cords immediately. Damaged cords increase
the risk of electric shock.
• When operating a power tool outside, use an outdoor
extension cord marked “W-A” or “W”. These cords are
rated for outdoor use and reduce the risk of electric shock.
WARNING: this miter saw is for indoor use only. Do not
expose it to rain or use in damp locations.
Extension cords
• Replace damaged cords immediately. Use of damaged
cords can shock, burn or electrocute.
• If an extension cord is necessary, a cord with adequate
size conductors should be used to prevent excessive
voltage drop, loss of power or overheating. The table
shows the correct size to use, depending on cord length
and nameplate amperage rating of tool. If in doubt, use
the next heavier gauge. Always use U.L. and CSA listed
extension cords.
