This document describes the GX-M/GF-M series balances, which are high-capacity precision instruments designed for accurate weighing.

Function Description

The balances offer a range of functions to ensure precise and versatile weighing:

Self-Check Function (ECL): Electronically controlled load (ECL) inspects the balance and evaluates its performance, ensuring optimal operation.
Impact Shock Detection (ISD): Detects and displays the level of impact applied to the mass sensor, helping to prevent damage and maintain measurement stability.
Flow Rate Display (FRD): Calculates, displays, and outputs continuous changes in balance readings as a flow rate.
Data Memory Function: Stores weighing values, calibration results, and multiple unit masses (up to 200 items for weighing values), which can be output to a printer or computer.
Automatic Self-Calibration (GX-M series only): The GX-M series features automatic calibration using an internal mass, adapting to temperature changes, and user-defined time or interval settings.
GLP/GMP Data Output: Outputs Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliant data via the RS-232C serial interface.
Built-in Clock and Calendar: Adds time and date to output data, with settings configurable by an administrator using the Password Lock Function.
Comparator Indicators: Displays comparison results with HI, OK, LO indicators (5-step comparison is also possible depending on settings).
Capacity Indicator: Shows the current weight value as a percentage of the total weighing capacity.
Hold Function: Designed for weighing moving objects like animals, providing a stable average weight display.
Underhook: Allows for density measurement and weighing of magnetic materials.
Password Lock Function: Limits user access and prevents unauthorized changes to function settings.
Key Lock Function: Disables key operations, allowing the balance to be controlled solely by commands from external equipment.
Interface: Equipped with RS-232C serial and USB interfaces for communication with a computer, compatible with WinCT software.
Smart Range Function (GX-8202MD, GF-8202MD, GX-32001MD, GF-32001MD): These models have two ranges—a high-resolution precision range and a normal-resolution standard range—that switch automatically based on the displayed value. The precision range can be reactivated by pressing the RE-ZERO or SAMPLE key.

Usage Features

Installation: Install the balance in a stable, vibration-free environment, away from direct sunlight, heaters, air conditioners, and magnetic fields. Ensure the balance is level using the bubble spirit level.
Warm-up: Allow at least 30 minutes of warm-up time (6 hours for first-time installation or relocation) before use to ensure accuracy.
Calibration: Calibrate periodically for accurate weighing. GX-M series has internal mass for calibration, while GF-M series requires an external weight.
Weighing Modes: Supports Gram, Kilogram, Counting (PCS), Percent (%), Ounce (Avoir), Pound, Pound/Ounce, Troy Ounce, Metric Carat, Momme, Pennyweight, Grain (UK), Tael (HK, HK jewelry, Taiwan, China), Tola (India), Messghal, Density, and Programmable-Unit.
ACAI Function (Counting Mode): Automatic Counting Accuracy Improvement enhances counting accuracy by increasing the number of samples.
Gross Net Tare Function: Allows separate zero setting and taring operations, and outputs Gross (total amount), Net (net amount), and Tare (tare quantity) data.
Statistical Calculation Mode: Calculates and displays/outputs statistical results such as number of data, sum, maximum, minimum, range, average, standard deviation, and coefficient of variation.
Flow Measurement Mode: Calculates and displays the amount of change in weighing value per hour.
Minimum Weighing Warning Function: Alerts the user if the sample amount is too small for accurate quantitative analysis.
Password Lock Function: Can be enabled to restrict access and prevent unauthorized changes to settings.
Underhook: For measuring density and weighing magnetic materials.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning: The balance can be cleaned with water. Remove the weighing pan, pan support, and draft gate for cleaning. Avoid direct water pressure on the bottom, powerful water jets, or submerging the balance. Use a lint-free cloth moistened with warm water and mild detergent.
AC Adapter: Do not remove the AC adapter while the internal mass is in motion (e.g., during calibration or right after connection) to prevent mechanical damage. Always press the ON:OFF key and confirm zero display before removing the adapter.
Troubleshooting: The manual provides error codes and troubleshooting steps for common issues related to balance performance, environment, and weighing methods.
Software Version Check: The software version can be checked by inserting the AC adapter and observing the display.
Repair: For service or repair, contact the local A&D dealer. Do not disassemble the balance.
Transportation: Use original packing material for transportation. Remove the weighing pan, pan support, breeze break ring, and dust plate from the main unit.
