refrigerant line lengths, however, final refrigerant charge must be based on the sub-cooling and
superheat values as discussed in the prior section.

Special Low Ambient Option Charging
Instructions
For units equipped with low ambient
refrigerant flood back option being charged
in the summer when the ambient
temperature is warm:
If the ambient is above 21°C (70°F), charge
to approximately 0.6-1.1°C (1-2°F) of sub-
cooling measured at the inlet to the expansion
valve. Once enough charge has been added
to get the evaporator superheat and sub-
cooling values to the correct setting, more
charge must be added. For units with Fin &
Tube Condenser coils, use Table to find the
