8.1 How to install the product
The product is intended for professional use and must be installed by qualified personnel only.
The product must be installed in a secured location, accessible to authorized personnel only (for
example in a cabinet / technical compartment).
By default, the ABB Ability™ Edge Industrial Gateway comes with a DIN rail mounting clip fastened on
the bottom side. You can use this to install the ABB Ability™ Edge Industrial Gateway.
Optionally, you can replace the DIN Rail Mounting Clip with the Mounting bracket (optionally available).

8.1.1 How to install the product using the mounting bracket
To install the product in place, complete the following steps:
1. See “Mechanical Specifications” on page 46.
2. Use the 4 slots available on the Mounting Bracket.
3. Add all the necessary mounting hardware to safely fasten the ABB Ability™ Edge Industrial Gateway
in place according to your installation requirements (for example use 4xM5 screws, with a minimum
length of 15mm). Material, type, and length of the screws, and the maximum torque applicable,
depend on your installation requirements.
The Mounting Bracket is made of 2 mm aluminum alloy 6061 T6.
