The maximum oxygen content of the sample gas mixture should be 21 Vol.-%,
corresponding to atmospheric conditions.
If the sample gas consists only of oxygen as well as combustible gases and vapors,
it must not be explosive under any conditions. As a rule this can be achieved by
limiting oxygen content to a maximum of 2 Vol.-%.
Combustible gases that are explosive under the conditions encountered in analysis
even when oxygen is excluded should be present in the mixture only in concentra-
tions that are not critical to safety.
