Formation & dangers from carbon monoxide
Poisonous effect
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colourless, odourless, non-
irritating gas which can quickly become a deadly threat.
Carbon monoxide bonds to the pigment of the red blood cells,
thereby preventing the transport of oxygen, which can lead to
unconsciousness and death by suffocation.
High concentrations of CO can lead to dead in just a few
minutes.
