Setting up
• As soon as the smoke alarm is fixed to the mounting socket, the battery
connections will automatically link and the unit will be powered up and
ready to use.
• Whenever the smoke alarm is detached from the mounting socket, the
battery power will automatically be switched off in order to prevent
unwanted sounding of the alarm.
Normal operating mode
The red LED light under the cover will flash approx. every 6 minutes in normal
operating mode signalling that the alarm is ready for use.
Electronic test
Perform regular functional tests on your smoke alarm by holding down the
test / stop button (for approx. 5 seconds). The warning tone will sound and the
red ‘ALARM’ LED light will flash. This does not signal that there is smoke in the
room but it is confirmation that the smoke alarm is functioning correctly.
Installation and operation Display and functions
By testing the device electronics, the mute function is automatically
activated for 9 minutes, during which time the LED will flash once
every 10 seconds. After this 9-minute period, the detector will
automatically return to normal operating mode, in which the LED
will again flash once approximately every 6 minutes.
Always test the functioning of the smoke alarm after installation.
Additionally, a regular inspection is recommended. Ensure your
hearing is protected by maintaining an arm’s length distance
between yourself and the device!
