Overview

This document is an owner's manual for a Ductless Single Zone Heat Pump, specifically models CHD09KCH19S, CHD12KCH17S, CHD18KCH17S, and CHD24KCH18S. It provides comprehensive information regarding the installation, operation, and maintenance of the air conditioning unit.

Function Description

The device is a ductless single zone heat pump, designed for both cooling and heating functions. It operates as an air conditioner, providing temperature control for a single designated area without the need for extensive ductwork. The unit can be controlled via a remote controller, offering various modes and settings to optimize comfort and energy efficiency.

Key operational modes include:

  • Auto Mode: The air conditioner automatically adjusts its operation based on factory settings to maintain a comfortable environment.
  • Cool Mode: Provides cooling functionality, with adjustable set temperature and fan speed.
  • Dry Mode: Operates at low fan speed to dehumidify the air; fan speed is not adjustable in this mode.
  • Fan Mode: Circulates air without cooling or heating, with adjustable fan speed.
  • Heat Mode: Provides heating functionality, with adjustable set temperature and fan speed. For heating, the indoor unit may delay blowing air for 1-5 minutes after startup, depending on ambient temperature, to prevent cold drafts.
  • Turbo Mode: Allows for quick cooling or heating by operating at a super-high fan speed.
  • Sleep Mode (Sleep 1, Sleep 2, Sleep 3): Offers different sleep curves to adjust temperature automatically during sleep for enhanced comfort and energy saving. Sleep 1 increases cooling temperature or decreases heating temperature over time. Sleep 2 follows a preset temperature curve. Sleep 3 allows for user-defined sleep curve settings.
  • I FEEL Function: The remote control detects the ambient temperature and sends it to the unit, which then automatically adjusts the indoor temperature accordingly. The remote control should be placed near the user and away from objects that might affect temperature readings.
  • X-FAN Function: In cool or dry mode, this function allows the indoor fan to continue operating for a few minutes after the unit is turned off to dry the indoor unit's evaporator, preventing mold growth.
  • Energy-saving Function: In cool mode, this function automatically adjusts the set temperature to achieve optimal energy-saving effects. Fan speed is defaulted to auto and cannot be adjusted.
  • 8°C Heating Function: In heat mode, this function maintains a constant heating status at 8°C (46°F), useful for preventing freezing in unoccupied spaces during winter.
  • Auto Clean Function: Cleans the evaporator by performing fast cooling or heating cycles. The unit displays "CL" during this process.
  • Child Lock Function: Locks the remote control to prevent unintended changes to settings.
  • Power Limiting Function: Limits the power consumption of the unit.

The unit also features horizontal and up/down louver swing for directing airflow, and a display light on the indoor unit that can be turned on or off.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Set Temperature Range (Remote Controller): 16~30℃ (61-86°F).
  • Operating Temperature Range (Outdoor Temperature):
    • Cooling: -29°C (-20°F) to 50°C (122°F).
    • Heat Pump Unit: -30°C (-22°F) to 50°C (122°F).
  • Power Supply: Requires a qualified power supply circuit and circuit breaker in accordance with national wiring regulations. Grounding resistance must comply with national electric safety regulations. An all-pole disconnection switch with at least 3mm contact separation in all poles should be connected in fixed wiring.
  • Refrigerant Circuit: The temperature of the refrigerant circuit will be high; interconnection cables should be kept away from copper tubes.
  • Connection Pipe Lengths:
    • Standard: 5m, 7.5m, 8m.
    • Minimum: 3m.
    • Maximum: Varies by cooling capacity (e.g., 15m for 5000-9000 Btu/h, 20m for 12000 Btu/h, 25m for 18000-24000 Btu/h, 30m for 28000-48000 Btu/h).
  • Additional Refrigerant Charging: For every additional 5m of connection pipe beyond the standard length, 5ml of refrigerant oil should be added. The additional refrigerant charging amount per meter varies by liquid pipe diameter.
  • Pipe Expanding Dimensions (A-value):
    • Φ6 - 6.35 (1/4"): Max 1.3mm, Min 0.7mm
    • Φ9 - 9.52 (3/8"): Max 1.6mm, Min 1.0mm
    • Φ12 - 12.7 (1/2"): Max 1.8mm, Min 1.0mm
    • Φ15.8 - 16 (5/8"): Max 2.4mm, Min 2.2mm
  • Tightening Torque for Hex Nuts:
    • 1/4": 15-20 N·m

    • 1/2": 45-55 N·m
    • 5/8": 60-65 N·m
    • 3/4": 70-75 N·m
  • Remote Control Batteries: Two 7# (AAA 1.5V) dry batteries.

Usage Features

  • Remote Control Operation: The primary interface for controlling the unit. It features buttons for ON/OFF, MODE selection (Auto, Cool, Dry, Fan, Heat), FAN speed adjustment (Auto, Low, Medium, High), temperature adjustment (up/down arrows), swing control (left/right, up/down), TIMER ON/OFF, CLOCK setting, I FEEL function, LIGHT control, WiFi activation, and SLEEP mode selection.
  • Auxiliary Button: In case the remote controller is lost or damaged, an auxiliary button on the indoor unit can be used to turn the unit on or off. When turned on via the auxiliary button, the unit operates in auto mode.
  • Display Indicators: The indoor unit features a temperature indicator and a power indicator. The remote control displays various icons to indicate the current mode, fan speed, swing settings, and special functions (e.g., Turbo, Sleep, 8°C heating, X-FAN, Health, Scavenging, WiFi, Child Lock, Quiet).
