4.4 Thresholding (Zero-Suppress - ZS1 option)
Acqiris SA220P User's Manual 53
Figure 4.6 - Illustration of gated records granularity: start gate, stop gate . Pre-gate granularity X=7 , post-gate
granularity Y=32.
Pre and post-gate samples
It is possible to define the minimum number of samples guaranteed before the gate start or after the
gate stop using respectively PreGateSamples or PostGateSamples parameters.
PreGateSamples and/or PostGateSamples can be set from 0 to 24 samples by step of 8
samples (8, 16, 24)
1
. When used, this is the minimum number of samples guaranteed to be acquired
before the gate starts and/or after the gate stops.
In streamin mode (CST), and when using some pre-gate samples, the start gate position returned
by the gate markers does not include the samples of the pre-gate. The gate starts at Gate Start -
PreGateSamples position. Similarly with the post-gate, the gate stops at Gate Stop -
PostGateSamples position.
The number of samples associated with a Gated-record can be computed from:
Gate Stop - Gate Start + PreGateSamples + PostGateSamples
Real-time processing
The real-time processing for each acquired waveform consists in:
1. For each trigger and during defined record length: extracting the samples with an amplitude
greater that the gate threshold.
2. Appending pre- and post- samples to the event points (optional).
3. Formatting the event record.
4. Stabilizing the baseline within the event (optional - see Baseline stabilization and digital offset
(page 45)).
5. Transferring the event records and associated meta-data to the host computer.
