The following spares and accessories are
available from our helpline or our website:
www.acticare.com.
Never use the charger stand with
non-rechargeable batteries installed.
Replacing batteries
The rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH)
batteries installed in Acticare may need
replacement if the time between charges has
decreased considerably.
Normally, the batteries will last 12 months (or
250 cycles) if used under proper conditions.
Disposing of a battery in fire can cause the
battery to rupture. Also avoid placing batteries
in water, as this causes batteries to cease to
function.
Replace with good quality AA size NiMH
batteries of at least 1500mA/hour capacity.
Always replace with four new batteries of the
same type; don't mix battery capacity or type
since this may cause charging problems.
Cleaning the Acticare Unit
Clean the outside of the unit as required with
a damp cloth. Do not use strong detergents or
immerse the unit, lead wires, or electrodes in
any liquid.
Be careful not to force any liquid into the gaps
where the buttons meet the outer casing.
Optional Rubber Electrodes
Sponge covers and conductive rubber
electrodes can be disinfected using a 70% v/v
aqueous solution of isopropyl alcohol. Do not
steam, disinfect or use cleaning agents
containing sodium hypochlorite.
