Configuring SNMP v1/v2 in the GUI
Step 1: Enable SNMP and Enter Your SNMP Community Secret
1. Navigate to SNMP > SNMPv1/v2c. Toggle the Mode button to on.
2. Specify the community secret established for your SNMP polling server in the field to the right of the
corresponding v1/v2c community and ensure the communities that you plan to use are enabled. There are
typically two community strings defined: one intended for read only access and one intended for read/write
access.
3. Select Apply to save your changes.
Step 2: Enable the SNMP security Models (firmware v20.12-4 and earlier)
This step is only needed for firmware versions v20.12-4 and earlier.
The security models are turned off by default in firmware versions v20.12-4 and earlier. These security models,
which need to be enabled for SNMP to work on the ASE device, must be enabled in the CLI. See Step 3:
Enable the SNMP security Models (firmware v20.12-4 and earlier) on page 10.
