Overview

This document is a user manual for the AEG CCE84543FB hob, which integrates an induction cooking surface with a hood extractor. The appliance is designed for domestic cooking purposes and is built into a work surface.

Function Description

The AEG CCE84543FB hob features induction cooking zones that generate heat directly in the cookware, ensuring efficient and fast cooking. The hob automatically detects the presence and size of cookware on the cooking zones. If cookware is removed or not detected, the zone will automatically deactivate after a set period. The hob also includes a Bridge function, allowing two left-side cooking zones to be connected and operated as a single, larger zone for bigger cookware.

The integrated hood extractor works in conjunction with the hob to remove cooking fumes and odors. It can operate in both manual and automatic modes. In automatic mode (AUTO), the fan speed adjusts based on the heat setting of the hob, increasing or decreasing as needed. There are three fan speed levels available in manual mode, plus a Boost function for maximum extraction in extreme situations. The hood also includes an Auto Breeze function, which continues to run the fan at a minimum speed for up to 20 minutes after cooking to eliminate lingering smells.

Usage Features

The hob is operated via sensor fields on a control panel. Users can activate/deactivate the appliance, set heat settings for individual cooking zones, and activate functions like PowerBoost for increased power to induction zones for a limited time. The OptiHeat Control provides a 3-step residual heat indicator, showing whether a zone is hot enough to continue cooking, keep warm, or if there is only residual heat.

A Timer function allows users to set a specific cooking duration for a zone, after which the zone will deactivate. A Minute Minder function is also available for general timing when cooking zones are not active.

For safety, the hob includes an Automatic Switch Off function that deactivates the appliance if no heat or fan speed setting is selected, if something is spilled on the control panel, or if the appliance overheats. A Child Safety Device and Lock function prevent accidental operation of the hob and hood, locking the control panel.

The hood functions are controlled via dedicated sensor fields, allowing users to activate/deactivate the hood, adjust fan speed, and engage the Boost or AUTO modes. The appliance provides visual indicators on the control panel to show active functions, fan speed levels, and residual heat. Sounds are used to confirm actions and signal the end of timer functions, with an option to deactivate most sounds via the OffSound Control.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning is crucial for maintaining the appliance. The hob surface should be cleaned after each use, especially to remove melted plastic, sugar, or fat stains. A special hob scraper and neutral detergents are recommended.

The integrated hood system requires specific maintenance. The cast iron grid covering the hood inlet can be removed and washed manually or in a dishwasher. A water tank located under the hood collects condensation during cooking and needs to be emptied regularly.

The 2-in-1 long-life carbon filter, which combines grease and odor filtration, is located under the grid. It consists of two elements that need regular cleaning and periodic regeneration. The filter should be cleaned as soon as visible grease builds up, typically every 10-20 hours of use. The hob has a built-in counter that reminds users when to regenerate the filter (after 100 hours of use), with a blinking indicator. The filter can be washed in warm water without cleaning agents or in a dishwasher at 65-70 °C without detergents or other dishes. After washing, the filter must be dried in an oven at 70 °C for 20-30 minutes (non-fan function) or at room temperature overnight before reassembly. The filter has a maximum of 7 regeneration cycles, after which it needs to be replaced. The filter housing itself can also be washed manually or in a dishwasher.
