This document is a user manual for the AEG IPE84531FB induction hob. It provides detailed information on its function, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.
Function Description:
The AEG IPE84531FB is a built-in induction hob designed for household cooking. It features four induction cooking zones and a control panel for operation. Induction cooking zones generate heat directly in the bottom of the cookware through a strong electromagnetic field, ensuring efficient and fast cooking. The glass ceramic surface is heated by the cookware itself. The hob includes several functions to enhance the cooking experience and ensure safety.
Usage Features:
The hob is operated using sensor fields on the control panel.
- Activation/Deactivation: The hob can be activated or deactivated by touching the ON/OFF sensor field for 1 second.
- Heat Setting: Heat settings are adjusted using a control bar. Users can touch the desired heat setting or slide a finger along the bar. The hob automatically detects the pot and displays '0' when a pot is placed on the zone. If a pot is removed, the heat setting remains for 50 seconds, indicated by a blinking control bar, allowing the user to reactivate the setting by placing the pot back.
- Automatic Switch Off: For safety and energy saving, the hob automatically deactivates if no cookware is placed for 50 seconds, no heat setting is set for 50 seconds after placing cookware, spills occur on the control panel for more than 10 seconds, the hob overheats (e.g., a saucepan boils dry), or a cooking zone is left unattended for an extended period. The deactivation time varies based on the heat setting (e.g., 6 hours for settings 1-2, 1.5 hours for settings 6-9).
- Power Management Function: This feature manages power distribution between cooking zones connected to the same phase. Each phase has a maximum electricity loading of 3680 W. If the total load exceeds this, the function reduces the power of other cooking zones on the same phase.
- PowerBoost: This function provides increased power to an induction cooking zone for a limited period, depending on cookware size, to speed up cooking. It is activated by touching 'P' and deactivates automatically.
- Count Down Timer: Allows users to set a specific operating time for a cooking zone. Once the heat setting is chosen, the timer can be set from 00 to 99 minutes using the +/- sensor fields. A signal sounds and '00' flashes when the time ends.
- Minute Minder: This function can be used when the hob is active but cooking zones are not operating. It functions as a general timer, activated by touching the timer sensor field and setting the time with +/-. It has no effect on cooking zone operation.
- Pause: Sets all active cooking zones to the lowest heat setting (1). Activated by touching '||', and deactivated by touching '||' again to restore previous settings.
- Lock: Locks the control panel during operation to prevent accidental changes to heat settings. Activated and deactivated by touching the lock sensor field.
- Child Safety Device: Prevents accidental operation of the hob. Activated by touching the lock sensor field until a signal sounds and an indicator comes on. The control bars disappear. It remains active even after the hob is deactivated. It can be temporarily deactivated for one cooking time or permanently deactivated.
- OffSound Control: Allows users to deactivate or activate the hob's sounds. This function is set when the hob is deactivated, by touching the ON/OFF sensor for 3 seconds, then the timer sensor for 3 seconds, and selecting 'b' (sounds off) or 'b0' (sounds on) using the timer's '+' button.
- Hob²Hood: An advanced automatic function that connects the hob to a compatible AEG hood via infrared signal. The fan speed adjusts automatically based on the hob's mode setting and the temperature of the hottest cookware. Manual fan speed control is also possible. Automatic modes (H1-H6) can be selected, with H5 being the default. Some modes also activate the hood light automatically.
