VFI4 Visual Fault Identier
The VFI4 is a visible red laser source designed to troubleshoot faults on ber
optic cables.
Warning! The VFI4 is a registered
FDA Class IIIa/IEC Class 3R Laser Product.
Never look directly into optical output!
Inspecting Cables
Note: Clean connectors on cables before connecting them to VFI4!
• Attach the inspected cable to the 2.5 mm (or 1.25 mm) Universal adapter
installed on the VFI4 optical port.
• When the VFI4 is Off to turn it On in either mode:
– 2 Hz mode: Press and hold the On/Off button for 1.5 seconds
– CW mode: Press and hold the On/Off button for 3 seconds
• Green LED will illuminate to indicate that VFI4 is on.
• Observe the inspected cable for faults.
• Press the On/Off button to turn the VFI4 off.
