Why does my Aico Ei3018 alarm go off for no reason?
    • A
      Adam PaulJul 27, 2025
If your Aico Security System alarm sounds for no obvious reason, first locate the alarm with the flashing red LED to identify whether it's a Fire or CO (Ei3028) alarm. For fire alarms, if it's a nuisance alarm, press the Test/Hush button to silence it and interconnected devices for 10 minutes; press again for more silenced time. Relocate the alarm if false alarms are frequent. If the alarm continues to sound without smoke or heat, and cleaning doesn't help, replace it. For CO alarms, check for fuel-burning appliances, fumes, aerosols, outdoor CO sources, hydrogen sources (like charging batteries), or excessive smoke from hookahs. Press the Test/Hush button to silence the alarm for 4 minutes. If it persists, the CO alarm may be defective and should be replaced.

If interconnected Aico Security System alarms don't all sound, hold the test button for 10 seconds after the first alarm sounds to ensure the signal transmits to all units. For hardwired interconnections, consult a qualified electrician. If using a RadioLINK system with an RF module, verify that all alarms are powered and house-coded correctly.
