Control buttons include PLAY, STOP, F-SKIP, B-SKIP, MODE, and ENT. The XP-V716C model includes a car audio cassette adapter, allowing it to be used with car audio systems. The device also has a HOLD function to prevent accidental button presses.
Maintenance Features
The service manual provides comprehensive instructions for maintenance and repair.
- Laser Safety: Emphasizes protection of eyes from laser beam during servicing, with warnings about invisible laser radiation and the need to observe from a distance of more than 30cm from the objective lens. The device is classified as a CLASS 1 LASER PRODUCT.
- Optical Block Replacement: Detailed precautions for replacing the SF-P200 optical block, including grounding the body and workbench to prevent electrostatic discharge that could damage the laser diode. Instructions specify removing solder after connection.
- Parts List: Includes a detailed electrical main parts list (ICs, transistors, diodes, capacitors, connectors, coils, switches) and a mechanical exploded parts list with corresponding part numbers and descriptions. Chip resistor part coding is explained.
- Wiring and Schematic Diagrams: Provides wiring diagrams for the main/jack board and lid, as well as schematic diagrams for the main/jack board and lid, aiding in troubleshooting and component identification.
- Test Mode: Describes a "Test Mode" for adjustment-free servo circuit and disc distinction. This mode allows confirmation of RF level, tracking balance, and individual servo adjustments (Focus Bias, Tracking Balance, Tracking Gain, Focus Error Offset). It also enables confirmation of sled movement and disc distinction (CD-DA, CD-R, CD-RW) based on judgment values displayed on the LCD.
- Waveforms: Illustrates expected waveforms at specific IC pins (RF, TEOUT, FEOUT, OSC1) to assist in diagnosing circuit performance.
- IC Description: Provides a pin-by-pin description of the main ICs (MN101C439AA/AD, MN662782RPT1, BH6554FV, AN8838NSB, TA2120FN), detailing their functions and I/O types.
- Battery Indication: Explains the hexadecimal values corresponding to different battery status indications (Green, Orange, Red, Lo-Batt).
- A/D Tables: Provides tables for K-FUNC, SWEASS, SWR/H, K-P/S, and K-RMC inputs, showing the hexadecimal values and their corresponding functions/states.
