The
provided
stylus
should
be
changed
after
approximately
400
hours
of
record
playback.
Grasp
the
cartridge
firmly
with
one
hand,
and
gently
pull
the
stylus
free
from
the
cartridge
with
the
other
hand.
Replace
the
stylus
with
the
Akai
RS-33
stylus
(sold
separately).
Your
turntable
is
equipped
with
a
standard
PC-35
plug-in'TaP)
type
moving
magnet
cartridge.
Before
replacing
the
stylus
Turn
off
the
power
of
the
turntable
and
amplifier.
Cartridge
Remove
Be
careful
where
you
place
your
turntable
Keep
the
turntable
away
from
the
television,
speaker
system,
the
transformer
of
the
amplifier
or
any
other
equipment
which
generates
signals
or
vibrations
that
can
be
picked
up
by
the
sty-
lus.
Keep
the
records
and
the
stylus
clean
Dirty
records
and/or
a
dirty
stylus
will
lead
to
distortion
and
make
the
stylus
jump.
Therefore,
regularly
clean
the
records
andthe
stylus
with
the
optional
accessory
Cleaning
Kit
CK-600.
Keep
your
turntable
clean
too
Clean
the
cabinet
with
a
soft,
dry
cloth.
If
the
cabinet
is
dirty,
clean
it
with
a
mild
detergent.
Never
use
paint
thinner,
etc.
to
clean
the
cabinet,
as
this
may
damage
the
finish.

Place
the
tone
arm
in
the
tone
arm
rest.
Set
the
arm
lifter
control
lever
to
¥
,
then
lock
the
tone
arm
using
the
arm
rest
lock.

the
lock

the
tone
arm.
Replacing

cartridge
Before

Turn
off
the
turntable
and
your
amplifier.

Lock
the
tone
arm
to
the
tone
arm
rest.

The
(TdPlis
the
standard
mark
for
plug-in
type
cartridges.
Cartridges
with
this
mark
are
interchangeable.
This
turntable
is
equipped
with
a
high
quality
VM
type
mov-
ing
magnet
cartridge,
but
any
MM
(Moving
Magnet)
or
IM
(Induced
Magnet)
cartridge
with
the
(TaPimark
can
be
used.
Using
the
provided
screwdriver,
remove
the
small
screw
whichis
located
directly
behind
the
cartridge,
on
the
side
of
tone
arm.

After
removing
the
screw,
grasp
the
cartridge
and
tone
arm
firmly
and
pull
the
cartridge
forward,
away
from
the
tone
arm,
until
it
is
free.
:
install
the
new
cartridge
by
reversing
the
above
operation.
Keep
the
terminal
pins
of
the
cartridge
clean
and
handle
with
care.
Notes
on
cartridge
replacement

It
is
recommended
that
the
cartridge
be
replaced
once
a
year
to
maintain
a
high
level
of
performance,
or
sooner
to
upgrade
your
turntable.
@
Replace
the
cartridge
with
one
which
has
an
output
voltage
of
approximately
2.5
mV.
Refer
to
the
specification
sheet
of
the
cartridge.
This
turntable
cannot
use
an
MC
(Moving
Coil)
type
cartridge
even
if
such
a
cartridge
carries
the[TaPisym-
bol.

Don’t
bump
your
turntable
This
can
cause
the
stylus
to
jump,
leading
to
damage
of
the
sty-
lus
and
the
record.
Don’t
interrupt
any
movement
@
During
record
playback.

When
the
tone
arm
is
moving
automatically.
@
When
the
platter
is
rotating.
Protect
your
records
Do
not
touch
the
grooves
when
handling
the
record.
Dirty
grooves
will
produce
distortion.
Store
records
standing
in
a
well
ventilated
place,
relatively
free
of
dust.
