Tempo (Tap Tempo)
BPM: The tempo as indicated in beats per minute. The available range is 30–300 BPM.
Time Division: The speed of the Note Repeat repetition and the sequencer as a division of the
master tempo or external clock. The available options are 1/4, 1/4T, 1/8, 1/8T, 1/16, 1/16T,
1/32, and 1/32T. (T denotes a triplet-based time division.)
Gate: The length of the notes of the Note Repeat feature and of the sequencer. The available
range is 1–99% of the current time division setting.
Swing: The amount of swing used in the repeated notes of the Note Repeat feature and in the
sequencer. The available range is 50–75%.
Transport (Stop, Play, Rec)
Type: The type of event that will be sent. The available settings are MMC, MMC/MIDI, MIDI
Real Time, MIDI CC, and PTEX. When set to PTEX, transport control messages will be sent
only on USB Port B, Channel 16, regardless of the Common Channel (Common Chnl) setting.

®
Pro Tools
®
Express only.
MIDI to DIN: Determines whether or not MIDI data is sent to the MIDI Out (On) or not (Off).
MIDI data will be sent to MPD232’s USB connection regardless of this setting.
Sequence Edit (Step Bank)
Steps: The total number of steps in the sequence. The available range is 0132.
Start / Stop: The commands that will start or stop the sequencer’s playback. When set to Seq
On/Off, the sequencer will use MPD232’s Seq On/Off button. When set to Play/Stop, the
sequencer will use MPD232’s Play and Stop buttons. When set to MIDI Start/Stop, MPD232
will start or stop the sequencer when it receives a MIDI Start or MIDI Stop message.
StepView: Chase: The behavior the step buttons as a sequence plays. While Off, the step
buttons will show Steps 01–16 only or Steps 17–32 only, and you must press the Step Bank
button to view the opposite set of 16 steps. While On, the step buttons will show whichever
set of 16 steps is currently playing.
Sequence Edit (Seq Rec)
On this page, you can erase all steps for a pad or for all pads in the sequence. Turn the Data
Dial to select the desired pad number (0164) or All (to erase the entire sequence). Press the
Data Dial to confirm your choice. Be careful—this can’t be undone!
