Front Panel Overview

LCD Display

The display is used for navigating menus, displaying data, and affecting change on MPK25's options and parameters.

[VALUE] Dial

This dial increments/decrements values and acts as an [ENTER] button.

[<] and [>] Buttons

Navigate menus and options; [<] also functions as [CANCEL].

[PRESET] Button

Calls up Preset Mode for selecting and recalling different Preset programs.

[EDIT] Button

Calls up Edit Mode to edit keyboard, pads, knobs, and default settings.

[GLOBAL] Button

Calls up Global Mode for setting global parameters and system preferences.

[PREVIEW] Button

View controller values without sending them. Hold and adjust controller.

[PROGRAM CHANGE] Button

TRANSPORT CONTROL BUTTONS

Front Panel Overview (Continued)

MPC Pads

12 MPC-style pads are pressure and velocity sensitive for expressive play.

Pad Banks

4 Pad Bank buttons switch between banks A, B, C, D, accessing up to 48 sounds.

[FULL LEVEL] Feature

Pads always play at maximum velocity (127), regardless of hit force.

[12 LEVEL] Feature

Use pads to change a selected sound's velocity in 12 steps.

[NOTE REPEAT] Feature

Retriggers pads at a rate based on Tempo/Time Division when held.

[TIME DIVISION] Button

Specifies the rate for Note Repeat and Arpeggiator features.

[ARP ON/OFF] Button

Enables/disables the internal Arpeggiator on notes played on the keyboard.

[LATCH] Button

Works with Arpeggiator to memorize and arpeggiate held notes.

[OCTAVE +/-] Buttons

Shift the keyboard's range up/down. Pressing both resets octave shift to 0.

[TAP TEMPO] Button

Tap in a new tempo. Does not work with External sync.

Pitch Bend Wheel

Transmits pitch bend information on a specific MIDI channel and port.

Modulation Wheel

Transmits continuous controller data, defaults to MIDI CC #01.

DC Power Input

Connects to MP6-1 power adapter for external power.

Power Adapter Restraint

Secures power cord to prevent accidental unplugging.

USB Connection

MIDI OUT Port

Important MIDI OUT Port Behavior

MPK25 output sent to MIDI OUT port. MIDI IN data is ignored.

Displaying Information

Octave and Transposition Display

LCD shows current octave and transposition settings applied to the keyboard.

Note Display

Shows MIDI Note Number, Port, Channel, Bank, and Velocity when a pad is hit.

Note Aftertouch Display

Displays Aftertouch value on the far right when pressure is applied to a pad.

Control Change Display

Shows Control Change (CC) Number, value, and MIDI Channel when a knob is moved.
