      Chad ClarkJul 29, 2025
If your Akai CD Player is skipping, it might be due to a dirty disc or lens. Try cleaning or replacing the compact disc. Alternatively, use a camera brush or blower to clean the lens. Also, too much movement of the CD player can cause skipping. Reduce movement of the CD player.

If your Akai CD Player disc will not play, make sure you re-insert the disc with the label side facing up. If that doesn't work, the compact disc may be defective or the wrong type. Try another audio compact disc. Ensure the CD door is securely closed by pushing down the left corner of the door. Also, moisture may have condensed inside the CD deck. Take out the CD and leave the CD door open for about an hour to dry the moisture condensation.

      Elizabeth LeeAug 11, 2025
If you're not getting any sound from your headphones with your Akai CD Player, first, re-insert the headphone plug into the headphone jack (marked phones) to ensure it's properly connected. Make sure the headphone is plugged into the headphone jack and not the line out jack. Increase the volume. Weak batteries can also cause this issue, so replace them with fresh batteries or use the AC adapter. Try another compact disc.

If the buttons on your Akai CD Player are not working, it could be due to an electronic or static error that has caused the circuitry to lock. Remove the batteries and AC adapter, wait a few seconds, and then re-insert them. Ensure the batteries are fresh or the adapter has power. Also, check if the HOLD function is on and slide the HOLD switch to the OFF position if it is.
