Troubleshooting
Should
you
have
any
problems
during
the
operation
of
this
VCR,
please
check
that
all
the
controls
are
set
to
their
proper
positions
and
that
all
cables
are
properly
connected
(refer
to
this
manual!
for
the
correct
procedures).
If
a
problem
persists,
refer
to
the
advice
below.
If
the
problem
can
not
be
corrected
with
the
instructions
below,
write
down
the
model
and
serial
number
and
all
pertinent
data
re-
garding
warranty
coverage,
as
well
as
a
clear
description
of
the
problem,
and
contact
your
nearest
AKAI
service
centre.

PROBLEM
CHECK
POINT
There
is
no
power
to
the
VCR.
Is
the
mains
lead
plugged
in?
The
eject
button
does
not
work.
If
the
VCR
is
in
the
timer
mode
the
eject
button
will
not
work,press
the
TIMER
button
to
cancel.
If
the
VCR
is in
the
recording
mode
press
the
stop
button
then
eject.
Is
the
TV
set
to
the
video
channel?
Is
the
antenna
connected
correctly?
is
the
“AV”
indicator
lit
on
the
FL
display?
If
so
press
the
CHANNEL
buttons
to
cancel
it.
Is
the
VCR
in
the
correct
mode?
There
is
no
picture
on
the
TV
screen.
The
VCR
will
not
record.
Is
the
recording
defeat
tab
of
the
video
tape
removed?
If
so
cover
the
cavity
with
adhesive
tape.
The
record
button
must
be
pressed
for
a
few
seconds
to
start
recor-
ding.
Is
the
“AV”
indicator
on
the
FL
display
lit?
If
so
press
the
CHANNEL
buttons
to
cancel
it.
The
VCR
does
not
operate
using
the
remote

condensation
in
the
VCR.
Wait

hour
and
then
press
the
POWER
button
a
few
times.

display
should
disappear.
If
the
display
remains
on
the
FL
display,
contact
your
Akai
service
centre.
Note:
e
When
you
have
finished
using
the
VCR
eject
the
cassette
and
turn
the
power
off.
©
The
VCR
may
become
warm
during
operation,
this
is
normal
and
does
not
indicate
a
fault.
However,
make
sure
that
the
VCRis
well
ventilated,
and
do
not
place
anything
on
top
of
the
ventilation
holes.
