Each time recording
begins,
an index code is automati-
cally added to the video tape.

the recording
pause/standby
mode, no indexcodewillbe
added.)This index code is later used during the inlro scan
and index
search operations
While recording, additional index codes can be added by
pressing
the BEC
button on
the remote
control at any
point
you
want.
The index indicator will
aDoear on

screen.
The intro
scan
feature
searches
for
programmes you
want to
play
back, using the index codes as a
guide.
The intro
scan
fast forwards
the tape to the beginning ot a
re-
corded
programme,
briefly
plays
back
approximately 8
sec-
onds of the
programme,
then fast forwards it to the next
pro-
gramme.
This
procedure
is repeated until the
end of
the tape
or until another mode
(such
as
play
or stop) is engaged.

can skip

many index
codes,
in the forward or reverse direction,as

find the section

wish to view

Note:
When the index search reverse button

pressed
once
in
the middle ol a
programme, playback
willstart lrom the be-
ginning

that
programme.
These features will not operate
with tapes that
do
not have
index codes.
During the intro scan and
index
search
modes, the index
number
will
be displayed
on the TV screen and on the FL
display.
The
'SC"
indicator
will light
on
the FL
display.
There mustbe
morethan 1 minute between indexcodesfor
these functions lo operate
properly.
