TheOTRfeature
is
used to setthe
stoptimeof a recording
that
has
already
begun.
For
example,
you
may
have
started
recording
a
programme
manuallyand you
wantto
go
out, orgo to
bed, before the
recor-
ding is finished.
You
can use the
OTFI feature to
set a time for
the
recording
to stop.
The stop time
can
only be set to the hour
or half hour.

During
recording,
press
the
OTR button
until
"OTR'
I
and
"STOP" light
on the FL display.
The
VCR has to
be in the recording
mode for
at least
5
seconds until the
OTR feature
can be used.
The blank
search feature
automatically tinds
lhe end
of
re-
corded sections
on a
video
tape. This is
convenient when
you
wantto record
something
aftera
previously
recorded
section.
Blank
search
only
lunctions
in the
loMard
direction. It the
present position
of the tape
is after the
previously
recorded
section itwillbe necessary
to tirst rewind
the tape
to a
pointbe-
fore the
end ol the recorded
section.

at 30 minute intervals.
The
"STOP"
display will
disappear
after the stop
time
has
been set.

cancel ihe
OTR mode,
press
the TIMER
button. The
VCR will
go
to the
ordinary recording
mode
(,,OTR',
dis-
appears from
the FL display).
To stop recording,
press
ihe
stop r button.
Note:

lf
you
make
a mistake
during OTR setting,
keep the
OTR
button held down
and the VCR will return
back to
the ordi-
nary recording
mode.

Instep2,if

display, the VCR
will record
to the end
of the tape,
eject it
and then turn the
power
off.

When
OTR
recording
is
completed
(or
the tape runs
out),
the
power
will
be automatically
turned
off and the tape
eiected.

During
recording
all other operations
of the VCFI
are can-
celled.

This
feature will
notoperate if the
clock is not
set.
Select BLANK
with
,,\
or
\,/ button.
Press
the
OK button again.
The VCR
fast forwards
to the end of the
present
re-
corded
section and stops
(the
tape
counter appears
on
the
TV screen).
Press
the >
play
button to contirm
that
you
want
to
start
recording
from this
point.
With
this feature
you
can
review
what
you
have
just
recorded
and
stillremain in the recording
pause
mode. This
enables
you
to
edit while
you
are recording.
For
example, if
you
are recording
a
film
trom the TV
and
you
record
the beginning
of some of the
commercials by mistake,
you
can stop the tape
(without
leaving
the recording
mode),
playback
what
you
have
just
recorded to
search for the
begin-
ning
of
the
commercialbreak,
stop the tape there
and be ready
to record when the
film starts again.

From
the
recording
mode
press
the PAUSE/STILL
I
button.
The VCR will
go
to the recording
pause
mode.

Press
the JOG/SHUTTLE
button and turn
the
jog
dial
L
or shuttle ring
to the left
or
right
to search for
the
place
where
you
yyant
to resume tecording
lrom.
When
you
stop using the
jog
and
shuttle the VCR
auto-
matically
goes
back to the
recording
pause
mode.

Press
the BEC button
to
resume
recording.
Note:
The fastforward
>>
and
rewind <
buttons
can be used in
place
of
the
jog/shuttle.
Thejog
dial
gives you
more
accuracy locating
the exact
po-
sition.
