What to do if the load does not stop with AL-KO Winches?
    • M
      Matthew WoodardAug 3, 2025
If the load doesn't stop when using your AL-KO Winches, it could be due to several reasons. First, check if the rope or strap is incorrectly wound. Ensure it's fitted correctly. Another potential cause is worn or defective brake components, which would require inspection and replacement of worn parts. Lastly, the brake pad might be damp or oily, in which case you should clean or change the brake pads.

    • C
      Charles SolisAug 13, 2025
If lowering is difficult with or without a load when using AL-KO Winches, the crank handle thread might be stiff. Try greasing the crank handle thread to resolve this issue.

What to do if the load pressure brake does not open on AL-KO Winches?
    • J
      Jill BensonAug 23, 2025
If the load pressure brake doesn't open on your AL-KO Winches, it might be due to a tight brake disc mechanism or brake discs. Ensure the winch is without a load! Try releasing the brake by gently hitting the crank handle with your hand in the direction of 'Lower'. If necessary, block the gears until the crank handle is loosened. Also, grease the crank handle thread.
