and the frequency of the max. towing load.
If it is constantly used a maximum load then wear
will be considerably more than when used with
mean or lower loads.
To achieve a higher service life, it is of advantage to
use the next size of winch and to have it maintained
regularly.
7. Fitting Instructions
Assembly
The winch must be fastened using three M10
hexagonal bolts DIN 933 8.8 and shims DIN 125
(for Type 351 – M8 hexagonal screws). Tightening
moment:
M10 - 49Nm; M8 - 25 Nm.
Fitting position
Determine the fitting position so that when the
winch is used the fleet angle is no more than 4°
(1:15). (Fig. 12)
Deflection pulleys
If the cable is led over deflection pulleys, they must
have a minimum diameter of 11.2 x cable diameter!
Using the cable winch
The cable winch must not be used for securing
loads! (e.g. Car Transporter). Here the load requires
separate lashing as the cable winch friction disk
brake can be loosened by vibration during the
journey.
8. Spare Parts
The cable winches are marked with a spare part
identification number (ETI-No.). This ETI-no., the
cable winch type and the component required must
be given when ordering. The complete spare parts
list with illustrations of the components can be sent
to you on request.
6
Fault
Load is not held
Friction disk brake does not open
Lowering with and without load is difficult
Friction disk brake does not close
(load is not held)
Cause
Cable wound up incorrectly
Direction of rotation when lifting incorrect
Brake torn or faulty
Brake disk damp or oily
Brake disk mechanism or brake disks
distorted – or crank is stuck
Crank not quite wound up during fitting and thus
distorted by the hexagonal screw
Rectification
Lay cable in place correctly
Check brake parts and renew torn parts
Clean or replace the brake-disks
Slacken brake by hitting the crank hand lightly
using the palm of the hand in the direction of
lowering – without load!
(to do this block the gearwheels if necessary, until
the crank becomes loose, grease crank thread)
See crank fitting and check information
