8. Once the chain (19) is loosely in position
around the guide bar (18), and ensuring the
links are located within the bar guide channel
(Fig G), locate the chain tensioning pin (29)
in the bottom hole in the guide bar (18) by
moving the bar inward or outwards.
NOTE: If the chain tensioning pin (29) does
not locate with the bottom hole in the bar
guide (18), adjust the chain tensioning screw
(21) until the chain tensioning pin (29) is in the
correct positon to locate. (Fig H)
9. Tighten the chain (19) onto the guide bar (18)
by adjusting the chain tension screw (21) in
a clockwise direction until the chain (19) just
touches the bottom edges of the guide bar
(18). (Fig I)
10. Fit the chain drive side cover (22) over the
clutch / brake assembly (35) whilst aligning
the 2 threaded studs with the 2 hole recesses
in the chain drive side cover (22) (Fig J).
NOTE: Check the position of the front guard /brake lever (12) and ensure
it is in the full forward position. (Fig K)
11. Secure the chain drive side cover nut/s (23) finger tight. Check again the
cover is flat on the surface of the bar.
