Starting the Engine
(Manual Recoil Start)
1. Turn the key (26) to the right to the “ON” position.
2. Firmly hold the recoil starter (10) & pull slowly
until resistance is felt, then pull rapidly. (Fig. L)
Stopping the Engine
1. To stop the engine (11), move the key (26) to the
left to the “OFF” position. (Fig. M)
Emergency Stopping
If you have turned the key (26) and the lawnmower
fails to stop, DO NOT PANIC - there are two other
safe stopping methods available for you to try. Do
not put ngers or hands anywhere near the cutting
deck.
The safest method is to wheel the lawn mower to a
safe area and allow the lawn mower to continue to
run until the fuel has been all used up.
An alternative to this where the user is condent,
is to remove the spark plug cover (13) by pulling it
from the spark plug (47). (Fig. N) This removes the
engines ability to re and run.
However it is recommended to wear a rubber
glove when grasping the spark plug cover (13) as
a small electric shock is possible when pulling the
cover (13) o.
Ensure you feel condent to do this . If not, simply allow the lawnmower to
run out of fuel.
CAUTION: The spark plug (47) may be hot.
Persons with heart conditions or any medical condition which can
be aected by electric shock should not attempt the spark plug removal
method.
Do not attempt to restart the lawnmower and contact your local service
agent and book a repair of the product.
