WARNING: It is recommended to wear gloves during this process so
as to not risk any personal injury from the blades when cleaning
the underside of the deck.
1. Position mower on a at and level section of grass, which will not cause
problems if the grass and surrounding area will get wet.
NOTE: It is NOT recommended to perform this operation on a concrete
surface as the concrete may be stained.
2. Remove the hard catcher (23) and ensure the rear discharge guard (22) is closed.
3. Attach a standard quick connect garden hose tting to the deck wash nozzle
(33). (Fig. U2)
NOTE: If you do not have a standard garden hose tting, use the supplied
standard hose tting (41) to connect to your garden hose. (Fig. U3)
4. Raise the deck height to approximately mid height using the cutting height
adjustment lever (9).
5. Start the lawn mower and run at a low speed.
6. Turn on the water at the tap, then increase the speed of the lawn mower so
as to distribute the water under the entire deck.
7. Run the process with the water running for approx 5 min or shorter if no
more grass is washing out from under the deck and then turn o the water.
Continue to run the lawn mower at medium speed for a few minutes to
assist in drying out the under deck.
8. Turn o the lawn mower and remove the standard hose tting (41) from the
deck wash nozzle (33).
NOTE: For general cleaning and maintenance of the mower, including the
housing, catcher, handles, levers and knobs, these can be cleaned using a
rag or damp cloth. Do not use chemicals or solvents.
