Air lter maintenance (Fig. 7)
1. Remove the air lter screw (A) and the air lter cover (14).
2. Remove the air lter (b), brush off any dry particles, or dislodge them by tapping
the air lter (b) on a hard surface.
3. Mount the air lter (b) and close the air lter cover (14).
Checking / replacing the spark plug (Fig. 8 / 9)
Do not touch the spark plug or the spark plug cover (13) when the engine runs. High
voltage!
Risk of burning on the hot engine. Wear protective gloves.
Check the spark plug and the spark gap on a regular basis:
1. Pull the spark plug cover (13) from the spark plug.
2. Remove the spark plug using the supplied spark plug wrench (25).
The spark gap must be 0.6 to 0.7 mm. (Fig. 9)
Clean the spark plug when it is contaminated.
Replace the spark plug:
• once a month if the device is often used
• when the insulating body is damaged,
• when the electrodes show excessive erosion,
• when the electrodes show excessive dirt or oil.
Fuel Filter (Fig. 1)
Never use the machine without a fuel lter. After 100 hours in operation the fuel lter
should be cleaned or, in case of damage, replaced. Be sure to empty the fuel tank
(before changing the lter).
1. Ensure the On/Off switch (1) is set to ‘Stop’.
2. Remove the fuel tank cap (10).
3. Bend a piece of soft wire.
4. Reach into the fuel tank (12) opening and hook the fuel line. Carefully pull the fuel
line toward the opening until you can reach it with your ngers.
NOTE: Do not pull hose completely out of fuel tank (12).
5. Lift the lter out of the fuel tank (12).
6. Pull the lter off the fuel pipe with a twist and clean it. (If the lter is damaged,
dispose of it and replace it with a new lter).
7. Insert the end of the cleaned /new lter onto the fuel pipe. Place one end of the l-
