2. GRAPHIC SYMBOLS
Some instructions in the manual and on the device are highlighted by graphic symbols to draw the reader’s
attention to the operational dangers. The following graphic symbols are used:
DANGER!
This warning indicates the possible presence of voltage exceeding 1kV on the marked
terminals (even if for short periods).
WARNING!
This warning indicates the possible occurrence of an event which may cause a serious
accident or considerable damage to the device if suitable precautionary countermeasures
are not taken.
ATTENTION!
This warning indicates the possible occurrence of an event which may cause a light accident
or damage to the device if suitable precautionary countermeasures are not taken.
NOTE. This warning indicates important information which must be read carefully.
3. DESCRIPTION
UPM307 is a power meter able to measure the main electrical parameters on three-phase systems.
Thanks to the TRMS measurements it provides accurate measurements even for distorted waveform. The
backlighted LCD display is very large and highly efficient therefore it guarantees perfect visibility even in
difficult environment condition. A simple menu structure makes the instrument easy to use and allows
a quick check of the measured parameters. The working parameters can be easily set up by instrument
keypad. The PC connection allows to read out the three-phase electrical parameters from the instrument
and to perform setup operations.
UPM307 replaces multiple analog meters as well as single function meters such as voltmeters, ammeters,
wattmeters, varmeters, frequency-meters, powerfactor-meters, energy-meters, etc.

The basic instrument can be customized with some options to fit to the specific application.
The UPM307 is a compact, cost effective meter operating both as a stand-alone device or as part of a more
extensive energy monitoring and management network.
4. PRELIMINARY VERIFICATION
NOTE. At the opening the box, check that the instrument has not been damaged during
transport.
If the instrument appears to be damaged, contact the aftersale service.
