Selecting a Site for the Media Converter
Observe the following requirements when choosing a site for the
AT-MC10x Series Media Converter.
If you plan to install the media converter in an AT-MCR12 chassis,
refer to the installation guide that comes with the chassis for
instructions.
If you are wallmounting the converter, select a location on the wall
that is safe and easily accessible.
If you are installing the converter on a table, be sure that the table is
level and secure.
The power outlet for the converter should located near the unit and
should be easily accessible.
The site should provide easy access to the ports on the front and the
power supply on the back of the converter. This arrangement will
make it easy for you to connect and disconnect cables as well as to
view the LEDs.
To allow proper cooling of the converter, air flow around the unit and
through its vents should be unrestricted.
Do not place objects on top of the chassis.
Do not expose the converter to moisture or water.
Make sure that the site is a dust-free environment.
Use dedicated power circuits or power conditioners to supply reliable
electrical power to the device.
