HYDRAULIC SYSTEM RETURN LINE FILTER
Start tractor engine and operate at low idle for
30 seconds to bleed any air from pump and lines.
Increase engine speed to high idle for 10 seconds
to transfer saIne fluid to front co:rnpartrnent
through torque convertor relief valve ..
Stop tractor engine and replace remaining 8 quarts
of fluid nece ssary to fill system. Refer to hot
check for operating range on dipstick. Add fluid
if necessary~
COLD CH .EX:K
NOTE: After cold starting tractor, shuttle clutch
oil will transfer to the forward cornnartment
dropping the oil level to the cold che'ck cross
hatch mark on the dipstick.
HYDRAULIC SYSTEM RETURN LINE FILTER
A return line filter is located in the irnplernent
system reservoir on a new crawler tractor ..
Filter element is replaced after the fir st 50 hours
of operation and every 500 hours thereafter.
REPLACING THE FILTER ELEMENT
Thoroughly clean the filter cover and the sur-

rounding area.
Remove the six nuts and lockwashers. Remove
the cover and filter elemen.t from the retainer and
discard the element, O-ring and gasket.
Thoroughly clean the inside of the filter retainer
and cover before installing a new element and
cover gasket.
Install new O-ring over retainer. Install retainer
i.n place lining the flat side of retainer next to Tab
on hydraulic tank as shown. --
Install the spring, washer, filter element in re-
tainer.
Install new gasket with cover and torque the six
nuts with lockwashers 20- 25 Ibs. ft.
