Fueling The Unit
Two fuel tanks are located inside the engine compartment,
one on each side of the unit, each with a filler cap.
To fuel
• Open the engine compartment access doors to access
the fuel tanks.
• Open the filler cap(s).
• Add fuel as needed. Refer to the engine
operator's manual for fuel recommendations.
SeeSpecificationsfor fuel capacity.
NOTICE
Diesel fuel only. Use of gasoline could result in engine
damage.
NOTICE
Pressurized fueling is not allowed.
Low Fuel Strobe Light (Select Models)
When the level of the fuel tanks falls below 1/8 full, the strobe
light will start flashing.
Operating The Unit
Before Operating
1. Perform pre-operation checks. SeePre-Operation
Checklist.
2. Make sure the unit is set up properly at the work site.

Operating The Engine
To start the engine
Key-Start models
1. Turn the key switch (D, Figure18) to PREHEAT. Hold for
10 seconds.
2. Turn the key switch past RUN to START.
3. Once the engine starts, release the key switch; it will
automatically return to RUN.
Note:The hourmeter (C, Figure18) indicates the total hours
of engine operation.
NOTICE
Do not operate the starter for longer than 10 seconds. Wait
30 seconds between starting attempts. Failure to do so
could result in starter damage.
