3.6 Spark Arrestor Maintenance
If the generator has been running, the mufer will be very hot. Allow it to cool before proceeding.
CAUTION!
The spark arrestor must be serviced every 100 hours to maintain its efciency.
NOTE:
Tools Required:
#2 Philips Head Screwdriver
Procedure:
1. Remove the four M6 screws and remove the mufer grill.
2. Remove the two M4 screws holding the spark arrestor to the mufer.
3. Use a stiff wire brush to remove carbon deposits from the spark arrestor screen.
4. Inspect the screen for holes, and replace it if necessary.
5. Reinstall the spark arrestor.
6. Reinstall the mufer grill.
